AMODIT REST API Integration

System integration helps organizations use their technology as one connected environment. It supports operational efficiency, flexibility, data consistency and secure information exchange.

Connected systems also make it easier to optimize processes, control operating costs and improve the user experience.

AMODIT previously exposed the SOAP protocol. SOAP relies on XML and requires more technical knowledge to implement and use. REST API offers a simpler, more flexible interface and reduces the effort required to build an integration.

AMODIT has provided REST API since version 220630, replacing SOAP for new integrations. The technical specification is available in the AMODIT REST API documentation.

The REST API expands AMODIT integration options with a modern interface for exchanging data and triggering workflows.

The value of system integration

AMODIT holds operational data such as case volumes and average task-completion times. System integrations make this information available to connected applications and support automated process starts.

An employee-onboarding example shows how the exchange works. An HR specialist adds a new employee and basic data in the HR system. The organization also uses the AMODIT document workflow for onboarding.

Without integration, the HR specialist enters the same employee data again, signs in to AMODIT, starts onboarding and manually copies the information into the AMODIT form.

With AMODIT REST API, entering the employee in the HR system automatically creates a case in AMODIT. The case is assigned to the appropriate user or department, and the form receives data from the HR system. The HR specialist opens a ready task with the employee information already completed.

The same pattern applies whenever an action in another application should trigger or update work in AMODIT. Integration creates a consistent, current view of data and automates the handoff between systems.

REST API for new integrations

SOAP remains available at its existing functional level, while new integration projects use REST API. The REST interface is easier to build and maintain and gives implementation teams more flexibility.

Why AMODIT uses REST API

REST API is supported by many programming languages, scales efficiently and simplifies integration development and maintenance. Access to AMODIT REST API is licensed separately.
