Substitution Models in AMODIT

Employee absences can delay document workflows. AMODIT supports two substitution models that define who takes over, for what period and within which processes.

A substitution can be part of any absence process, including a leave request or business trip. The configuration identifies who is absent, the date range, the substitute and the scope of access.

Basic Substitution

One substitute takes over all responsibilities during the absence. This model does not define exceptions. It fits situations where both employees normally have the same permissions or where temporary access to the complete workload is acceptable.

Process-Specific Substitution

The extended module supports a more detailed model.

Primary Substitute

The primary substitute receives access to all workflows that would normally require action from the absent employee, except for configured exclusions.

Dedicated Substitute by Process

Selected workflows can go to different substitutes. For example, one employee can handle HR-document cases while the primary substitute receives the remaining work.

Exclude a Process From Substitution

Some workflows should not be delegated. The extended module can exclude them completely, so neither the primary nor a dedicated substitute receives access. Those cases wait for the employee to return.

Organizations can therefore choose between complete coverage, different substitutes for selected workflows and deliberate exclusions.
